Residential Program for Adults

Adults with chronic mental illness may be served by one of five residential programs operated by Mid-Coast Mental Health Center. These programs are designed to serve individuals who require the availability of 24-hour supervision and support in order to live safely and successfully in the community.

Priniples of Our Residential Programs: 

  • Programming and activities are developed based on the unique needs and preferences of each individual.
  • The resident is a vital participant in the treatment planning process.
  • Families and significant others are encouraged to be involved in the resident's recovery.
  • Length of stay is based on individual needs, capabilities, and desires.
  • All residential staff are supervised by a licensed professional. Staff are provided with ongoing education and training to assure they provide best practice, competent and caring, assistance and support to each resident.
  • Policies and procedures reflect current standards of practice and meet or exceed DHHS licensure requirements.

Treatment Goals

Upon admission to the program, an individualized service plan is developed for each resident listing specific goals and inteventions.  These treatment goals commonly include the following areas of need:

  • Supervision and support
  • Medication administration
  • Healthcare management
  • Nutrition
  • Personal care
  • Transportation
  • Money management
  • Social, recreational and vocational support
