 CarePartners

CarePartners is comprised of a volunteer network of hospitals, physicians, and other health care providers who donate their medical care to persons with limited incomes who have no insurance.  They also provide support services, care management, and affordable pharmaceuticals to enrollees.

 Center for Tobacco Independence

The Center for Tobacco Independence (CTI) brings together a team of highly qualified individuals who focus on linking smokers to the most effective methods to quit. Our Center provides direct treatment services, offers consultation for health systems and employers, conducts research, and educates health professionals about tobacco use and dependence & how to help smokers quit.  Our programs are components of MaineHealthMaine Medical Center, and the Maine Medical Center Research Institute

 Let's Go! logo Let's Go! is a community-based initiative to promote healthy lifestyle choices for children, youth and families in 12 Greater Portland communities. Our goal is to increase physical activity and healthy eating for children and youth - from birth to 18. Let's Go!'s Founding Partners are Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Maine, through the Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield Foundation; Hannaford Bros. Co.; MaineHealth; Maine Medical Center; TD Bank, through the TD Charitable Foundation; Unum and United Way of Greater Portland, a unique partnership of Maine's leading health, business and community-based organizations. Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Foundation is a Platinum Supporter, as a part of their Growing Up Healthy Initiative. This message is also funded in part by the Mattina R. Proctor Foundation and The Barbara Bush Children's Hospital at Maine Medical Center.

Let's Go! is involved in 12 Greater Portland communities - Cape Elizabeth, Cumberland, Gorham, Falmouth, Freeport, North Yarmouth, Portland, Scarborough, South Portland, Westbrook, Windham and Yarmouth. In each of these communities, Let's Go! partners with others to work across six sectors to increase physical activity and healthy eating.  Currently there are other sites also using Let's Go! materials and the Let's Go! model in other communities in Maine.  For more information on Let's Go! outside of the twelve Greater Portland communities, click here.


 Parkinson's Information & Referral Center

MaineHealth, the Maine Chapter of the American Parkinson Disease Association (APDA), and the Maine Parkinson Society have established the Parkinson's Information and Referral Center as a central resource for people with Parkinson Disease and their families, from all over the state.    They offer free professional assistance for Parkinson's information; a lending library of books, videotapes, reference materials and brochures; seminars and classes on managing your disease; a referral list of professionals and community resources; and a partnership with the MaineHealth Learning Resource Centers where additional health education and services are available.

 Raising Readers

Raising Readers is a statewide health and literacy program serving all of Maine’s youngest children, regardless of economic means. Funded by The Libra Foundation, the Program  provides new, hardcover books to all babies at birth, and subsequently through well-child check-ups with their healthcare provider.  Providers coach parents on the importance of reading aloud frequently to their child.  The Program is a collaboration of MaineHealth and Eastern Maine Heathcare Systems and has distributed over 865,000 books.
